Char Su
is about two friends, the love of the same breed and similar
goals for the sharing of that special breed.
The
beginning was in 1981,when Susan Vroom was presented with a
puppy from a breeder that began an association of breeding
under the prefix of Ashante.
The
first puppy was a black and white striking male, ultimately
known as Am.Mex.International Champion Ashante's Too
hip Gotta Go.He,together with his littermate sister
Ch.Ashante's Abra Abracadabra started it all.
His
showcareer, just to hit the spotlights was:1987's#1 Top
winning Tibetan Terrier in the United States and Best of
Breed at 1988's TTCA National Specialty show. His major
contribution was of course as a sire;he is in the pedigree
of allmost every accomplished Champion of the breed.
Susan
and Diane De La Rosa met in 1987 when she purchased a male
puppy sired by "Too Hip" and the friendship began. This
puppy,Ch.Lan Lin's California Cooler achieved everything
Diane had dreamed of,and perhaps more.Presented in the
showring by Susan he grew up to be a National Specialty
Sweepstakes winner(the year his father won it all)and a
multiple independent specialty Best of Breed winner, one of
the first Tibetan Terrier Non-Sporting group 1 recipients, and
the Best of Breed winner at the prestigious Westminster
Kennel Club. In 1989,Diane and Susan began to breed
under the Prefix CharSu.
It
was,and remains so,the ideal union of"stay at home mom"(Diane)and,on
the road,at the shows handler -type(Susan)training and
showing the products of breedings that Diane has so lovingly
started out.
All of
the CharSu dogs,both grown-ups and puppies alike,are
valuable members of dual families.Litters perhaps one to two
a year,very painstakingly and carefully thought out,for
maximum phenotype and genotype characteristics.
The
health testing is of prime concern in every breeding we
consider,no bitch or dog is incorporated into the CharSu
Breeding program without strident scrutiny as to
temperament,as well as hips, knees, eyes, thyroid levels ans
all aspects of the individual ability of each breeding dog
to reproduce a loving,healthy,happy member for someone's
family.
We
invite you to enjoy our website:it is a chronology of Diane
and Susan's labor of love with a breed we hope you will grow
to love as much as we do. .
